Joined NYCA's rally to protest the
presence of Iran's terrorist president, Ahmadinejad, in New York City on
September 14, 2005
Senator
Christopher Bond:
Thank you for informing me of the upcoming rally in New York City for the
purpose of expressing support for a free Iran and concerns over President
Ahmadinejad's presence in New York. Like you, I support the aspirations of
Iranian-American's who hope that one day we will see a free and democratic Iran.
I applaud the efforts of the Iranian-American Cultural Association of Missouri
and its members, specifically in being willing to travel Lo NYC to express their
views on Iran. Please Convey to those participating in the rally my warm regards
and respect for taking a pro-active role on behalf of human rights in Iran.
Congresswoman Sheila
Jackson Lee…I
have been impressed with Iran's movement for democracy and freedom, especially
the movement amongst the women to achieve true equality…As a member of the
United States Congress, I would like to commend you on assembling peacefully for
the cause of freedom. I will continue to stay active with the Iranian community
in their quest for justice and a free society. Your rally here today send a
clear signal in support of democracy which should be universal for all humanity.
Congressman
Al Green...The people of Iran have long
struggled against the tyranny of oppressive government regimes. They deserve to
be represented in the international community by a leader who can help them meet
their potential as a country. Mr. Ahmadinejad has repeatedly resisted efforts by
the United States and its allies to dismantle its nuclear program,. By breaking
the IAEA seals on its uranium conversion facility in Esfahan. The Iranian
government has signaled that it will not adhere to international guidelines for
the production of nuclear weapons. Please be assured that I share your concerns
about the Iranian government and that I will continue to support efforts to
create a free and democratic Iran..
Congressman
William Lacy Clay:...I support you and your aspiration for a free and
democratic Iran. I share the concerns you have raised about the great nation of
Iran being represented in United Nation's General Assembly by Mr. Ahmadinejad
who has been identified as among those who held American citizens captive in
Iran for 444 days...We must avoid foreign military involvement in Iran and I
support the citizens of Iran in their efforts to achieve democratic rule.
Recently Maryam Rajavi, the president elect of the National Council of
Resistance, addressed the hopes of the Iranian people for democracy and she
explained "There is a third option: Change brought about by the Iranian people
and the Iranian Resistance".
Congressman
Bob Filner:
I express my support for all Iranian citizens and
expatriates who are standing up for human rights, democracy...I join you in
insisting that Iran's fundamentalists leaders end their criminal human rights
violations...development of nuclear weapons...support of terrorism.
